Australia Campaign Launch

Mode Partners

Mode recruited The Amazing Race host Phil Keoghan as an international ambassador for Christchurch and Canterbury. We have worked with the seven-time Emmy Award winner for the past two years to develop PR opportunities and the Australian campaign concepts.

Firstly we persuaded Phil to promote his Canterbury home, then we worked with the CCT marketing team in close consultation with Phil. We've co-ordinated Phil's visits to Christchurch and Australia, and we've accompanied him to countless media interviews. He's a real pro, a great guy and he's passionate about his home country.

Earthquake Recovery - Tourism

CCT

When the earth shook in the early hours of 4 September 2010 we kicked into crisis mode. On behalf of Christchurch & Canterbury Tourism we started work that morning to communicate the real extent of damage and the situation on the ground to travellers and the world. We worked directly with Tourism New Zealand to feed messages out via websites, media releases, images, video and social media.

We co-ordinated with all Christchurch agencies, attended daily Civil Defence news briefings, and interviewed Mayor Bob Parker and Prime Minister John Key. Then we started the Destination Recovery communications programme and that's still going, and going well. We're proud to be Cantabrians.
